Kontrakt for Orneshaugen
Totalbetong AS has entered a full contract for the construction of a sealed shell structure for Orneshaugen community house with the Laestadian Congregation in Narvik. The construction site is situated on the outskirts of Narvik, lying between the city and the Hålogaland Bridge. The project's various other works will be managed by side contracts for groundwork and technical disciplines and many of the interior fittings are planned as volunteer work by the congregation's members, as mentioned in a press release from Totalbetong.
Steg for steg utvikling
The project has been in development for several years, with collaboration between the Laestadian Congregation and Totalbetong's office in Bodø. The site preparation has been completed during the winter. The next steps involve starting concrete work for foundation walls and footings. Facades will be delivered in prefabricated concrete elements produced by Hå Element at Varhaug, involving a mix of black exposed and polished white concrete elements. These elements will be transported by boat to Narvik in two batches. The first-floor roof will be completed with hollow core slabs while the top-level roof will be delivered in prefabricated roofing elements from Lett-tak in Sandefjord.
Milepæler og frivillig innsats
The contract signing and commencement of construction are significant milestones after years of development. The delivery of the sealed building is expected within the current year. The final completion of the building is yet to be decided as the concluding work is to be carried out as volunteer labor by the congregation. Plans and architectural designs for the community house in Narvik have been provided by UNO design & architecture based in Bodø.
