Ny asfaltfabrikk i Østfold
Veidekke is relocating their asphalt production from Moss Pukkverk's current asphalt plant to a new facility being constructed in collaboration with Mr. Pukk in Indre Østfold. This new plant is intended to be one of Norway's largest asphalt plants. The relocation is due to challenges related to securing high-quality local raw materials and the inability of the current Moss Pukkverk location to guarantee the stone quality required for production.
Moss Pukkverk endringer
The current asphalt plant has been in operation for nearly 20 years and is among Norway's largest, with a production of roughly 200,000 tons of asphalt per year. With Veidekke's departure from Moss Pukkverk, the Skolt-owned facility will look into alternative uses for the space being vacated. Veidekke has a contract with Skolt Pukkverk in Moss until the following year but plans to continue asphalt production there until the new facility at Mysen is fully operational.
Forventet kapasitet i Mysen
The Indre Østfold site for the new asphalt plant, owned by Mr. Pukk, is currently approved only as a 'temporary mobile asphalt plant' until November 10 of the current year. However, future production is optimistically estimated to be between 150,000 and 200,000 tons of asphalt annually, if a long-term operation permit is granted. The new facility is expected to allow Veidekke to better integrate their logistics chain and operate more sustainably, with a higher proportion of recycled asphalt and reduced CO2 emissions.
