2,000 fleksible boliger til SSAB
Aurora Village is a large-scale residential construction project located at Aurorakuja 38 in Inari, developed through a collaboration between Strawberry Living, a part of Strawberry Group, and Adapteo. The project involves building a total of 2,000 flexible and sustainable project homes primarily intended to house employees working on SSAB's transition to fossil-free steel production in the Luleå region of Sweden. Adapteo is responsible for constructing the housing units, while Strawberry Living will manage the operations and service of the residential environment, including facilities such as a restaurant, a 24-hour minimarket, a gym, and social meeting spaces.
39 bygg med fleksibel levering
The project consists of 39 buildings, out of which 37 are dedicated to housing and service or activity purposes. The housing units are designed to be flexible with features that allow reuse and relocation, reinforcing the sustainability of the construction. The first 500 homes are planned to be ready for occupancy in spring 2026, with subsequent deliveries of 500 homes per quarter until the entire project is completed by the end of 2026. This phased delivery supports the timely accommodation of workers involved in the transformation of the steel industry.
Trygt og godt bomiljø for ansatte
Aurora Village aims to redefine employee housing across the Nordic region by combining community living with professional property management and a strong focus on user experience. Safety and wellbeing are key priorities, ensuring that the accommodation is secure and comfortable, especially for workers who may reside far from their homes. Strawberry Living’s operational model emphasizes creating a vibrant and well-serviced living environment tailored to the needs of industrial personnel.
Boligprosjekt støtter regional vekst
Beyond providing housing, the project supports regional economic growth and community development by addressing the housing needs created by large industrial projects. Petter Stordalen, owner and founder of Strawberry Group, highlights Aurora Village as an example of how residential construction can strengthen regions and contribute to solving broader societal challenges. The collaboration between Strawberry Living and Adapteo is seen as an ideal partnership to meet SSAB’s housing needs and potentially launch a Nordic offering for industrial workforce accommodation.
Bærekraftig bygging og drift
As the project progresses, there are no direct mentions of specific risks, but the phased construction and operational planning indicate careful management of delivery timelines and service quality. The environmental focus is reflected in the use of flexible, reusable housing units that support sustainability goals aligned with SSAB’s fossil-free steel production ambitions. Overall, Aurora Village represents an innovative approach to industrial personnel housing through a combination of sustainable building practices, comprehensive community services, and regional development goals.
