Barnekunst i skulptursti

Redningsselskapet is developing 'Barnas skulptursti,' a sculpture trail at their new Sea Safety Center on Langgrunn, Horten. The sculptures will be designed by children from the Vestfold region in collaboration with professional artists, aiming to create colorful and exciting works through children's imagination.

'Barnas skulptursti' will feature up to seven sculptures, funded with a NOK 2 million grant from Sparebankstiftelsen DnB. Fargefabrikken in Fredrikstad is leading the curation and production processes, inviting local schoolchildren to participate in the decorating. The first sculptures are expected to be unveiled in 2018.

The project seeks to enhance the area around the Sea Safety Center by creating a gathering place through art and family activities, including a canal for 'Elias' boating. By involving schoolchildren, the initiative fosters stronger community ties with Redningsselskapet and promotes maritime safety education for the youth.
