The Center Sportif de la Châtaigneraie located in Founex VD encompasses a variety of facilities including a double gymnasium with a capacity for 200 spectators, a multi-purpose hall, a public hall, and a bar. The building has a volume of 22,400 SIA cubic meters and is integrated into the Châtaigneraie complex.

Byggeprosess og strukturdesign

The construction took place between July 2007 and September 2008. The 965 m² double gymnasium features a removable partition curtain and is supported by a 32-meter long prestressed concrete structure. The structure uses rough-cast beams cast on site, contributing to the project's aesthetic appeal. The Rockpanel panels on the façade, alongside the large dark-tinted glazing, create a striking visual contrast with the warmly finished solid elements. Additionally, the building is designed with a flat roof capable of water retention.

Interiørmaterialer og uteområder

Inside, the floors are made from a poured and colored material that varies by room function. Walls are either exposed concrete or tiled, particularly in the shower areas. Exposed reinforced concrete ceilings are equipped with sound insulation made from painted wood fiber boards. Implenia General Contractor was responsible for the complex task of coordinating the construction, ensuring minimal disruption to student and vehicle movements by carefully demarcating the site. The outside area features a basketball court, stands, planting zones, bus and bicycle parking, and a fire department access road.
