LOT 12 500 kV Transmission Lines Project (LOT 12)

Omexom in Brazil has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) contract by Energisa Group for LOT 12, part of the ANEEL Transmission Auction held in June 2024. The contract was signed in July 2025 after a year of negotiations with an expected completion date in February 2029, spanning 43 months of work. Omexom is responsible for delivering the project in a turnkey model, covering all engineering, procurement, and construction phases.

Bygger 392 km 500 kV-linjer

The project involves constructing two high-capacity 500 kV transmission lines running through Maranhão and Piauí states. The Boa Esperança - Graça Aranha line measures 181.1 kilometers and includes four conductors per phase supported by 326 towers, while the Teresina IV - Graça Aranha line spans 210.7 kilometers with six conductors per phase and includes 426 towers, among which 360 are guyed cross-rope towers designed for higher transmission capacity. Both lines total 391.8 kilometers and 752 towers, with a substation located midway at Graça Aranha; however, substation works are outside Omexom's scope.

Given the project's proximity to northern Brazilian vegetation and challenging terrain, Omexom is collaborating closely with environmental analysts to implement sustainable and practical construction solutions. The team will use low-emission construction equipment to reduce environmental impacts and is proactively studying the construction sites to anticipate and address site-specific challenges. Early mobilization on-site is planned ahead of the official 2027 construction start date, coordinated with the completion of procurement contracts.

Omexom leverages extensive local and market experience, emphasizing lessons learned from previous projects to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks throughout delivery.
