Unikt trebygg i København
The Marmormolen project, designed for the Danish pension fund AP Pension, is a significant construction undertaking located in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn district. Completed in collaboration with the main contractor Pihl & Søn A/S and architect Henning Larsen, the project is set to be finalized by 2024. It stands out as one of the largest contemporary wood structures in Denmark, with commercial buildings spanning 28,000 square metres, built entirely from solid timber. The development includes offices, retail spaces, restaurants, and is surrounded by urban spaces like plazas, gardens, and promenades.
Fasade av glass og tre
Our contribution to the Marmormolen project includes extensive work on the unitised facade, totaling 10,788 m2 of unitised curtain walls with stretched metal cladding. Additionally, we are responsible for 253 m2 of glass roofing using a stick curtain walling system, and the installation of 1,550 m2 of stick curtain walls with add-on ash wood and glulam frames. These elements combine to create a building that showcases a gridded glass façade, promoting a sense of openness and connection to the waterfront and the surrounding urban green spaces.
Funksjonalitet og bærekraft
The design of Marmormolen integrates both functionality and sustainability, aiming to enhance public amenity spaces. The ground floor extends the nearby waterfront, merging it with a landscaped park and a large public marketplace. This area includes a canteen and auditorium that serve as public eateries and event spaces. Upper levels provide workspaces with panoramic views of Copenhagen’s skyline and seafront. The building is composed of rectangular cubes of varying heights, topped with rooftop terraces and gardens that host beehives, butterfly hotels, and vegetable-growing areas, thus promoting urban biodiversity and sustainability.
