Krevende energirenovering i Genève

The Migros Les Pâquis renovation project aimed to align the building with modern standards, improve energy efficiency, and minimize power consumption. Located in a busy area of Geneva's Les Pâquis neighborhood, the building houses Migros and three other retailers. The renovation was challenging as it occurred on a semi-occupied site, requiring meticulous planning and execution.

Significant improvements included the replacement of all ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems. Traffic management within the sales area was enhanced, a grid separation system was integrated between the checkout and sales areas, and the space was redesigned to optimize the variety of products. Additionally, an outward-facing area for staff was created to improve the overall comfort and experience for customers. The roof had to be reinforced to accommodate a six-ton ventilation monoblock, and the storage area was redesigned to comply with fire regulations.

Fokus på bærekraft og energieffektivitet

Sustainability was a crucial focus of this project. Technical installations were updated, including a new ventilation system with heat recovery, modern control devices, and optimized electrical installations. New equipment such as energy consumption meters, a smoke extraction system, and a transcritical R744 (CO2) refrigeration system was installed. These systems help ensure long life and high energy efficiency, including the recovery of heat from commercial refrigeration.

The renovated building spans a total area of 1,844.2 m², including an 850 m² sales area and a 1,250 m² first floor area, with a combined volume of 4,000 m³. The project involved one upper floor and one basement floor. The renovation was managed by Implenia Suisse SA with architectural design by Glauco Lombardi Architectes Associés SA. The building owner is Société Coopérative Migros Genève.
