Nytt psykiatri- og omsorgssykehus
Region Skåne has engaged LINK Arkitektur as the main advisor for designing new hospital buildings specializing in psychiatry, rehabilitation, advanced medical home care, and palliative care in Malmö. This prestigious assignment will expand the Södra hospital area by adding buildings that cover a total area of 65,000 square meters. This modernizing project is expected to significantly impact the healthcare sector in Malmö.

The architect team, which won the prestigious contract, includes LINK Arkitektur focusing on healthcare buildings, Wingårdhs specializing in urban planning, and Sydväst responsible for landscape architecture. The initial phase of the project, which includes preliminary design, will commence in the third quarter of 2023 and span two years. The contract also encompasses options for detailed design and oversight during the construction phase.

The construction is set to start in autumn, with an anticipated completion date in 2034. This timeline reflects the extensive nature of the project. Malmö aims to create a green oasis centered on healthcare and innovation, integrating various services into a unique urban environment around a green core.
