Budgetspreng: Nytotal 176,5 mSEK
Nya Ankarskolan Construction Project involves an extensive addition to the Ankarskolan elementary and middle school in Varberg. The construction began in January 2014 and is expected to be completed by April 2015. The total projected cost initially was 163 million SEK, which later increased by 13.5 million SEK due to price escalations and additional modifications, bringing the final budget to 176.5 million SEK. This project is being executed under a partnering contract with Skanska Sverige Region Hus Väst as the main contractor.
Ny skole til 680 elever
The project features a new F-9 school that includes a community library and a preparation kitchen, adjacent to the existing Ankarskolan building, which has been experiencing issues with overcrowding. The new school will cover a total area of 6800 square meters and is designed to accommodate 600 students and 80 preschool children. Specialized companies involved in the project include D OFFICE architects, several construction and specialized service providers like WSP Sverige, Falkenbergs Rör, Assemblin VS, Granitor Electro, Kakel & Byggkeramik, Strängbetong, Icopal Entreprenad, Kone, Lindmarks Måleri Halland, and S-Akustik.
Digital og miljøvennlig skole
This modern school is designed to provide enhanced educational environments with features suitable for future teaching scenarios, including comprehensive digital equipment across all areas. The project also addresses environmental concerns by constructing the building as a passive house to reduce energy consumption. Additional infrastructure improvements include a new access road and pedestrian and bicycle paths anticipated to be completed by the end of the year.

While the project did face some delays due to an appeal in the procurement process, it is now back on track. The first group of students, specifically those in grades 6-9, is scheduled to move in by week 9 after the sports holiday, while the remaining students will move in at the start of the autumn term. This project aims not just to alleviate current constraints but also to foster community development through improved learning environments.
