45M NOK Sluppen Bridge Kontrakt
Aas-Jakobsen signed a contract with Statens vegvesen for the continued planning and design of the new Sluppen Bridge in Trondheim, after winning the planning and design competition. The contract, valued at 45 million Norwegian kroner, encompasses the development of regulatory and construction plans for the new bridge and its associated roads. The contract was officially signed on February 17.
Tverrfaglig Team 'Tango'
The chosen design proposal, named 'Tango', was created by a collaborative team including Aas-Jakobsen Trondheim and Oslo, Plan arkitekter, ViaNova Trondheim, Grindaker Landskapsarkitekter, NGI, Selberg arkitekter, ECT, and Brekke & Strand. The team is proud of being awarded this prestigious task, with daily leader Ola Garli highlighting the contribution of civil architect Yngve Olav Aartun from Plan arkitekter.
Stram Tidsplan for Broåpning
The project has a tight schedule aimed at beginning construction in the fall of 2016 and opening the bridge to traffic in 2018. The project's progression is dependent on completing regulatory plans for public consultation by fall 2015 and the avoidance of unexpected challenges regarding the ground conditions, especially on the eastern side of the Nidelva river. The technical ground investigations are crucial, as the demanding conditions there led to the selection of a cable-stayed bridge design with much of the bridge's load anchored in rock on the west side of the river.
Innsamling og Optimalisering
The project team is refining the winning proposal and will engage in dialogue meetings with stakeholders to gather input for the regulatory plan. The optimization phase is set to be completed before Easter, with the final regulatory plan to be prepared for political review in the fall. The project is financed by Miljøpakken in Trondheim, a cooperation involving Statens vegvesen, Sør-Trøndelag County Municipality, and Trondheim Municipality.
