Les Jardins d'Onex is a residential complex located on the edge of the new city of Onex, Switzerland. The project includes four apartment buildings positioned parallel to Avenue des Grandes-Communes, marking a boundary between the residential area and the allotment gardens of La Caroline. The 46 apartments range from 3.5 to 6 rooms, with generous sizes between 86 to 148 square meters. All units have a north-south orientation, separating the living areas from the bedrooms to optimize living comfort, and include amenities such as balcony-loggias, fully equipped kitchens, and multiple bathrooms. Penthouse units feature large terraces while ground floor units have private gardens of approximately 100 square meters.

The building also includes six floors above ground and an attic, along with a basement housing technical facilities, civil protection shelters, and parking for 46 cars. Emphasizing sustainability, the construction meets the Minergie standard 2008 label and is connected to the CADIOM district heating system. This labeling ensures energy efficiency and high living standards through thoughtful architectural design and modern heating solutions.

Implenia had to employ special construction techniques due to the poor soil quality of the former landfill site. This included the use of foundation piles and an autonomous degassing system to manage methane emissions, a concern due to the landfill materials. A network of pipes under a tight invert paired with a continuous ventilation system was installed to repel and oxidize any methane gas. Additionally, basement walls and discharge pipes were carefully sealed, and a safety chimney was installed on the roof to ensure safe gas ventilation.

The construction of Les Jardins d'Onex began in March 2003 and was completed by August 2005. The project was designed by Fabio Fossati Architectes and has since provided families with a modern, well-equipped living environment with easy access to local amenities such as shops, public transport, schools, and nurseries.
